yeah, as a rehash of his season six plot. fuck that noise. unless he manages to wipe out Sam and Dean. that might get me to watch again.

I've heard that before, but I'm not sure I follow the logic.

In Season 6 he was secretly working with Crowley to open Purgatory, taking him into a downward spiral of questionable choices, while leading a rebel contingent against Raphael's forces in Heaven. Now he's going to be caught between two warring angelic factions on Earth, both of whom want his head on a platter, neither of whom has any business taking power, and whom he presumably will be trying to stop from killing each other. In S6 he was convinced of his own righteousness and ability to handle anything, whereas this season he's flat-out declared that he failed at being an angel and has done nothing but question his own competence.

The only thing I see that the two plots have in common is angels fighting angels.
