Attack of the Oz shows

Wow, four Wizard of Oz shows are being made. How the hell did that happen? The 'Wizard of Oz in a hospital drama' and "Wizard of Oz meets Game of Thrones' seem the most interesting. I don't know if I'll watch Dorothy Must Die, an evil Dorothy seems weird to me. The SyFy one sounds kind of eh. I hope the soldier is a woman.

Recognizable, easy-to-market IP + no copyright holder = a great opportunity in the eyes of Hollywood

I'm annoyed because I would absolutely tune in every week to a SyFy Wizard of Oz reboot if it was a continuation of Tin Man. If it's not about Glitch, Cain, Raw, and whoever they'd replace Zooey Deschanel with, I don't care.

That was my first thought too. Tin Man was surprisingly good and I'd love to see a continuation of it! (I bet a lot of others would, too.)

Why would they need to redo it?

It sort of comes in waves because I remember there being three Oz cartoons on the air as a child (one on ABC that was American, one on HBO that was a Japanese dub, and I think another Japanese dub movie?).

I'm a big fan of the original and the ensuing sequels so I'm not sure how to feel about this.
