Even though everything you say about how they treat him is so true, considering how popular Derek is by himself nevermind one half of the most popular pairing, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they killed him off. I'm pretty sure the ratings would tank and the show would die a very quick death.

The show has been renewed for S4 and I'm really hoping they wouldn't kill off a main character when the show is coming back.

There IS that, yea. Maybe you're right; maybe even if Jeff wants to kill Derek off, its just too risky to do so. I probably shouldn't hope such a thing is true, but I kind of do. I love Derek even if the writers seem not to, and I'd love for them to do something interesting with him that didn't involve death or a tragic affair.

Me too. (Though I admit I wouldn't be as heartbroken if Deaton or Peter or either of the twins went. Also, Gerard really needs to die already; maybe it's finally time for him to go.)
