Work Christmas Party Drama

(Anonymous) 2013-12-22 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
The most dramatic time of the year.

We must have had them all by now, so spill deets.
pantswarrior: Wild Tiger and Barnaby accidentally tie themselves up. So professional. (work)

I skipped mine due to health, but it's usually pretty entertaining for multiple reasons. I will have to ask if A's butt got to see the light of day this year... Everyone at the party tends to get really wasted by the end of the night except me, and A is a serial mooner. I thought people were kidding, the first year, then I went to the party and... yep. There's A's bare butt wagging around. XD

Last year I accidentally drew blood. Literally. I have longish fingernails (more because I'm lazy about cutting them than vanity) and I was playing a card game with a bunch of the other women, most of whom were pretty drunk at that point, and the game involved slamming your hand down on a pile of cards when a particular card came up, and trying to get your hand there first. Someone's hand tried to come down on top of mine, but instead sort of slammed into my fingertips, and then I had blood on my fingernails. I apologized rather a lot. -_-

Thank god we don't have parties. BUT my boss took us to a fancy restaurant and paid for it. I got a filet mignon. The only steak I have ever loved. O.O

I just started work at a really big company, but I work for another company technically. My coworker wanted to see a concert in the cafeteria there, and even though she's worked in this building for months wasn't allowed to because she's not technically an employee of that company.

I just started working here this past week, so it's been very awkward as people give Christmas gifts/sweets and I'm like "...none of you know me so idk..."

Well, it's awkward when there's drama on the sidelines and you look back at the group photos thinking "Mary Sue and Gary Stu don't normally look that happy when they're next to each other."

Mine got postponed until January due to scheduling muckups. I'm betting it never happens.

...I thought this said Work Christmas Party Donna, and I was waiting for the story about some awful person named Donna who was ruining Christmas cheer and vomiting eggnog or something.

DA

This would be hilarious if it were Donna from Doctor Who.

Last one I went to, I ended up with drawings of two of my friends/co-workers kissing on my forearms. They thought it was ridiculous and giggled a lot.

We were all supposed to meet up at Dave and Busters but I was crazy busy so I couldn't make it, but one of my coworkers told me that our boss was supposed to have gone out on a coffee date before our D&B party but he was stood up. He forced her and the other employees who showed up to play games with him. LOL

Oh man, Christmas party at D&B sounds amazingly more fun than the sort-of-nice lunch with lots of awkward silences that I endured. ;)

My boss chose the office Christmas party to tell me that I might be getting laid off in a month and a half. (It wasn't the actual party, but since that was really just a half-hour in the middle of the day when we gathered to have lunch together, it still kind of counts because it was the same day and the cookies and things were out all day.)
