Where can I find one of those things that save fanfics for you in case they ever get deleted and all? Are there any that do it automatically? That is to say, I have several hundred fics in my list, so I'd prefer not to have to go through and "activate" it for every individual chapter. ^^;

...I'd just C&P to Google Docs [with a note saying the name of the author, and possibly where you found it for reference.]

I mean, it can take a little to set up, but after that it's just a matter of keeping it updated.

Or you know, finding something that lets you download pdfs - which some sites let you do already.

In total, I have 2,383 chapters on my favorites list, and a number of other fics I want to save that aren't on there, one of which is 217 chapters long. I know I could just hit Ctrl-S on every last one of those chapters, but I'm hoping there's a much easier way.

There is a program that will auto dl chapters into one file but for the life of me I cannot remember the name. And I don't think it works everywhere, only certain sites. I'll go google a bit and see if I can find it.

Silly me, I just googled "fanfiction downloader" and found....fanfictiondownloader.net. My brain couldn't even remember the name for the fanfiction downloader titled fanfiction downloader. *sigh*

Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but it's handy.

Like anon above me said, fanfictiondownloader is a godsend. I love it because it downloads all chapters, properly named, gives you a link to the original posting, and lets you choose the format for the file.

I have this link: Squeebook, that is supposed to be able to download LJ and DW links, but I haven't tried it yet.

There is also Flagfic, which is webbased and has a different selection of sites it can download from. I've used it once, and I remember it being good enough.

(Don't forget to search on AO3. A lot of writers repost stuff there, and AO3 has that wonderful download button already.)

Oh, my god, Squeebook is like an answer from on high for all those LJ/DW fic links I have. Thank you!

I use Calibre, the free program, because it's fic downloader is easy to use, updates WIPs well, and can convert the files to a multitude of formats.
