Actually, I think you're right about the Oscar being for "Winter's Bone". But,unfortunately, that seems to be the way the Oscars work. Whoops, looks like we missed the boat - fix it this year. See "Chicago" winning Best Picture in lieu of the far superior "Moulin Rouge".

And, grrr, this Oscar talk just reminded me that Peter O'Toole never won an Oscar (honoraries are meant to rectify oversights). Travesty!

Wait, was Moulin Rouge seriously considered for an Oscar? I'd never heard of it until a year or two ago (when Luhrman's Gatsy was announced), and I just watched it over the summer and found it overall pretty mediocre.

But I agree with the AYRT that it was a superior movie to Chicago.

Renee Zellwegger was not the right choice for Roxie.
