I loved and still love the canon, but that was not enough to keep me around to play nanny to all the screaming idiots that came swarming in.

I think we were in the same fandom, nonny. It was fun, at first, wasn't it? Then it aaaaaaaallll went downhill. :-(

IDK, I haven't heard about any big meltdowns happening around my old haunts. But it definitely sounds like we've had the same experience up to that point, at least.

Yeah, it was fun in the beginning. The beginning was marvelous.

...Please let this be about SPN. I'm not in the fandom anymore, don't even watch the show, don't know what's going on in it anymore - but that fandom brought the crazy like no other.
