Yeah, I do get getting attached to her/liking her. I just don't get how so many people got so attached that they thought her death was the saddest in the whole series or anything, because for me the inevitability of her death made it hard to see her as a character instead of a plot device.

Other people =/= you, why is it so hard for you to comprehend people finding the death of a likeable child sad? The situation is sad, who she reminds katniss of is sad, the fact she's a child is sad, her death was sad, katniss's reaction to her death was sad, the song was sad, the flowers were sad, the entire district's reaction was sad

There are many, many, obvious reasons, as to why her death was sad. You're just coming across as incredibly thick

Other people =/= you to you as well.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with anyone liking Rue the most/finding her death the most sad. I just don't feel that way. I'm sure there are other character deaths that other people don't care about that I do and it doesn't bother me that they don't share my opinion.

yes it's goddamn sad, it's just not any sadder to me than any of the other gazillion people who died and I don't know why everyone thinks it was. I mean, beyond that it's just personal taste which is fine. I get that. You don't seem to, if you don't understand that some people aren't going to be affected by every single character death ever.

You made an entire secret about how you don't understand a very simple thing.

You're quite thick

Agreed. I thought her death (and the point of her character) was part of the greater tragedy of the situation. I did love the character, and her death was sad (and still a bit of a surprise to me) but not as depressing as the entire story.
