As someone who's very much not a fan of Homestuck or Hussie, I have to agree. It almost seems really conceited. Then again, I suppose it probably will get some people who are more Homestuck than Namco fans to play it. But whether or not that's a good thing is subject to debate.

Well, considering that those characters are the reason that many people were interested in the game I guess it worked out

>Thinking anything Homestuck related wouldn't be tacky

lol

I thought that several artists were invited to place their characters in the game - this isn't Hussie being some egomaniac.

The only characters other than the Homestuck ones that aren't from games are Cousin (the player character) and Aki (who's from the Wonder Momo comic)...and they're iffy, too, since Cousin is a cousin of the Prince of the Cosmos from Katamari, and Wonder Momo is a game comic (though I'm not sure if Aki's predecessor, Amazonia, appeared in the game or not).

They're only there if you buy the deluxe pak. You can buy individual characters that you like or you can get the 3 paks.

Also you don't have to talk to them even if you have them in your game. I don't want to spoil anything but it's a pretty simple and short plot.

What's the problem if they're optional DLC? That was how I thought it worked, anyways.

Secret 7 - Namco High (dating simulation videogame), Homestuck (webcomic)

[Picture is the profile pictures of Terezi Pyrope, Jane Crocker and Davesprite, all characters from the webcomic "Homestuck", as they appear in the website of the dating simulation videogame "Namco High".]

"Andrew Hussie worked on it, doesn't mean it has anything to do with Homestu-"

[picture of Homestuck characters]

"OH."

But seriously, does he have to just shove his characters into a project that has nothing to do with them? He couldn't just leave it alone and be content with the game on its own? I mean a cameo maybe, but three? Really? It's tacky.

And none of those 3 are Karkat or Lord English.

What a waste of good opportunities.

You say about a dating sim with an ending where you can marry every character.

Obviously Namco's cool with it. Chill, nona.

Heh, really? All of them? At once? Appropriate with a Cousin as the player character. It's a matrimonial Katimari!

Honest legit theor y

I wouldn't be surprised if Namco is involved with Distribution or some-such when he finishes his game. This was a way to get those contacts, and it'd retroactively make this game Namco-characters only.

I'm not even a fan, but considering the audience homestuck has, I think it would've been dumb to not take advantage of its marketing potential. and everything I've seen so far about namco high (from the people who bought it) has been all about the homestuck characters, so it was probably the right choice.

I doubt it was Hussie forcing the characters in there. Namco probably had that in mind when they hired him, to boost the popularity of the game. Nice package deal.

God dammit. I was joking when I said it was going to turn into a Homestuck dating sim. JOKING, Hussie, JOKING.
