And only their issues matter, and about anyone else she "literally does not give a shit". Got it, Caitlin.

And so fucking what? That makes her an instant expert on deprivation? Carry on stanning her all you like, but bind devotion is just that: blind.

I think it is problematic that most every important ideology ever, feminism included, is dominated by the voices of those already privileged through their social (racial, sexual, economic) background.

I think that it is extremely important that marginalised voices are heard in the mainstream.

I think we need a media environment that lets these voices be heard.

However, I don't think that anyone's voice should be disregarded and reviled because they belong to a privileged group and are concerned with the ways that they see discrimination happening in their life. Moreover, I find it really off-putting how much time feminists online spend on tearing into others for being too privileged to know what they are talking about. I'm not denying that Caitlin Moran has said and done stupid shit, but I do think that she is a valuable voice in the public.

DA

she literally said she doesn't give a shit about the struggles non-white women face. that's shitty by any decent person's standards.

SA

Wait, no. She said she didn't give a shit about the representation of women of color in her show iirc.

Let's not forget how she routinely uses words like "tranny." And how she calls women "virgins" to insult them. It's like she doesn't realize that a major pillar of feminism is not being judged on one's sexual activity and lack thereof.

ayrt

Exactly, she's a pretty terrible person. Hadn't heard about her calling people virgins as an insult. Wow. And her use of that transphobic slur is disgusting.

tranny in the uk =/= tranny in the us. it's not considered a slur because it has a different meaning than what it does in the us, it doesn't mean transexual in the uk.

You sound white. Also a shitty person.
