It's kind of ironic, but back in the late '80s and early '90s that's *how* we looked on the '50s, culturally. Seeing old film clips from that era at the time was all "LOL they dressed so weird and they were a bunch of stultified old fuddy-duddies".

Now (and really since ~2000)? You can't throw a stone without hitting something purposely retro-themed and on top of that liberals have really re-examined that era from an economic point of view and it really changes your perspective on the era.
