Penny may not be content in her job, but she's really not doing anything about it, for whatever reason. Maybe she feels like she can't leave her rather dead-end job to find something new or go back to school. (Hello I can relate to that!) Until she decides that she wants to commit her self to doing that, it's really not the place of anyone in her life to be passive-aggressive and emotionally manipulative to get her to fit THEIR idea of what she should be doing. To be clear, fans have every right to criticize that - she's a fictional character and we don't have to be friends with her. However, writing her boyfriend treating her poorly ( this applies to all the bbt boys) and it bein socially acceptable is a little fucked up.
