What an amazing gift! I am so thrilled that you wrote me a story about Dudley Dursley (and I also really enjoyed the author's notes you included at the end; I love reading about people's writing processes and how stories evolve as they're written). I'm stoked that you went to my journal to see what sort of stories I like and especially stoked that you chose to write about Dudley. I think your story hits just the right note of awkwardness and hope between Dudley and Harry and that you've created a Dudley who has changed but not in an unbelievable or saccharine way. The parts with the cupboard under the stairs that isn't were very powerfully written. I got shivers reading that part. <3

I'm SO GLAD that you liked the fic! <3 And that you didn't mind my rambling author's notes; I felt so guilty about not doing a proper 'Harry and Dudley talk it out' scene that I felt like I had to explain why it wasn't there.

You actually linked ME to your Dudley Redeemed rec list when I asked for HP recs a couple of months ago, which is why it immediately caught my attention. After that I just really had to write a DR fic as well. Though I feel like it's not as much as a redemption fic for Dudley as it would have been had it been from Elaine's POV, but as I said, I kind of hit a wall with that one. (I have four pages of that one written, if you're curious what the fic could have been like.)

Oh, no guilt necessary at all. I love the POV you chose; I think it worked very well for the story. I always like getting Harry's take on what's different about Dudley and how that change makes him feel.

It's here. I should warn you, it's not really polished or anything. I stopped writing continuing it the moment I realised that Harry's POV worked better for me. But it's written and gives a bit more insight into how Dudley turned out, so I thought I'd offer it.

I love recs, they are my main way of finding new fic. I actually got a bit distracted with all the new shiny things to read when I looked through them! :P
