Don't feel bad about the hostile responses. Sometimes I feel that way too, but they're right. It's technically like a branch-off from Island RP. But if they let others in, encourage it, then more roleplayers would post secrets there.

Then they wouldn't be begging for secrets every post.

It's not fun to stalk, anyway. It's always about the same characters with the same jokes and pairings.

Er, much as I'd like to just wave this entire thing off... but I'm curious to know, how do we discourage anyone from submitting? Why do you think we don't allow anyone who wants to, to come in and thread with the rest of us? Really, I-- personally-- don't want anyone to feel that way about the comm, because it wasn't made for just Island, it was made for anyone who wants to enjoy some free-form and cracky RP fun.

I don't know for sure, but my guess would be that since there's a lot of you and you seem pretty close knit, outsiders feel intimidated or they feel like they'd be intruding on your fun, even though they're technically welcome. I do know my characters the few times I've commented were totally ignored. It's not something you do intentionally and I've mostly seen characters from big RPs there.

Mm, well, I suppose I can understand that-- feeling intimidated because a lot of us are pretty close seems to put off a lot of people. Though, at the same time, I can't see it as being a totally good excuse, because I joined the game only months ago and I didn't know a single person that RPed there. *shrug* If it's any consolation for anyone, comments -I- make there often go ignored, and I both mod the place and RP at Island frequently. But what happens there happens in any RP, really; you can't really expect anyone to go to you, you have to go to them first to engage any threads.

It puzzles me why anyone would think we don't want any newcomers or "outsiders" at all, because that's entirely untrue, speaking as someone who again, didn't know anyone at all in the game. Eh... guess you can't really help what people think about that sort of thing.

She is not from Island. (Although, admittedly, her mun is.) In fact, nobody from her game posts at ic_secrets.

She still gets replies.

If you're interesting (and lucky) enough, you'll get replies and have as much fun as the rest of us.

I've submitted secrets with my compound_rp characters, and if the Island playing majority of ic_secrets can accept them, I don't see how they're excluding anyone.
