I was going to say that there's really no wrong reason to leave a fandom, but after all that anyone who told you to stay in the fandom would be in the wrong.

If that's your actual reason, I can't see it as remotely "petty".

The band doesn't have to break up before you can move on--if declaring the band dead to you is what it takes, then do that.

I do hope you can find the help you need for your self-harm issues. I'm sorry to say that I don't think quitting the fandom will be enough--it will only be step one.

Hi, it is kinda difficult to declare the band dead because I still listen to another band where two of Slipknot's members are in, so I try so hard to focus on THAT band, but everyone only cares about Slipknot.
