The Hobbit/LOTR genfic recs?
(Anonymous) 2013-12-27 01:06 am (UTC)(link)(I'd especially appreciate fic recs about Thranduil/Legolas/wood elves as I was totally caught off guard by how much I enjoyed them in the movie. I loved how unsettling and otherworldly and dangerous they seemed, as opposed to the elves in LOTR, so if there's fic with that kind of portrayal that would be awesome? yep)

I agree about the wood elves, although its hard to find fic...if you do let me know! lol
There seems to be a lot of fic on LJ, which I have trouble navigating; however the kinkmeme has a delicious, so you can search for fics tagged 'gen' there. I also had luck a while back on AO3, filtering the Hobbit page by kudos; a lot of people obnoxiously tag 'gen' when it's not strictly so, but you can filter for -"m/m" -"m/f" -"f/f" and that should cut out the blatant romances. ^^
