Except Christianity states homosexuality is a sin, which is exactly what he said. You can't actually be devout if you decide to leave things out.

No, Paul said that homosexuality is a sin.

Christianity in general has a wide array of beliefs on the subject, which isn't surprising considering that it's by no means monolithic.

Nope. "Christianity" isn't just one religion. There are literally hundreds of different denominations and sects, many of which take excessive amounts of glee in decrying one another as not being "true Christians," to no actual effect.

Some denominations of Christianity consider homosexuality to be a sin. Others do not. Thinking homosexuality is sinful is not an effective litmus test for Christianity. Please stop pretending that it is.
