This. I outright refuse to feel bad over liking something.

Well, I'm not anon but this is more of a fandom that I am in that all of my friends roll their eyes at. And that fandom is Young Hercules (yes, the TV show with Ryan Gosling). Everyone keeps giving me this weird look when I mention it, but it's just so delightfully cheesy and 90s and it's a small but loving fandom.

Sometimes I think I'd feel more comfortable if every other sentence I type didn't link me to some stupidly obscure fandom. I'm not ashamed of being in them, but being the only fan ever means that I've no means of hiding amongst all the BNFs and casual readers/viewers.

Homestuck

I'm sorta into emetophilia (I like vomiting, hate when others do it) and Homestuck is kinda the fandom to go to

I'm not ashamed of the Homestuck fandom (well okay, a little), but the reason I don't tell anyone about my involvement is because I don't actually read Homestuck (fics don't count)

and that's super lame

As a homestuck fan I don't really see a problem with this. You're looking for something that satisfies a kink, that isn't part of canon, and it's not like you're going around pretending that you're some kind of Homestuck expert. I've like some fanart for canons I don't really care about, I don't see how this is any different. ~~I'm sort of into this too.~~

I don't think I've ever been "ashamed" of any fandom I've been in.

For a very very very short time I was into Duran Duran RPF. I'm not ashamed, but I do question why.

There are fandoms that I don't mention to people but it's not because I'm ashamed of them or anything. Sometimes maybe embarrassed. And sometimes I just don't want anyone to know. I want it all for myself. Just because someone keeps something private doesn't automatically mean there's shame involved.
