fictional psychopaths

kinda inspired by dethtoll's music thread above, but anyone remember Rachael from Blade Runner?

The first time I saw the movie I didn't really understand anything about it, so everything kinda went past me, but recently I watched it again. To my astonishment I realized Rachael is a psychopath. I know, I know, it should have been obvious the first time I watched the film.

So it got me thinking, are there any fictional non-murderous psychopaths that come to mind? In movies, books, comics...?
What about psychopaths in romantic relationships?

I don't know. I'm kind of over this trend of reading characters as psycho/sociopathic when it's not explicitly intended by the creators.

River Song (We've only seen her kill Daleks and Silence and technically she never actually did kill the Doctor).

whoa

she totally is, isn't she? never even crossed my mind

although I'm not sure if it was done on purpose or it was just bad writing on Moffat's part... because I remember during Davies' run River was portrayed as a bit more symphathetic when she died in that library

I think it was intended (though whether it was intended from the start is... dubious to say the least)

there's the whole "trained to kill the Doctor from birth" thing, after all.

...she's a replicant, not a psychopath. Though, technically, they are psychopathic that's a function of the hardware/software. Did you see the director's cut?

...how is she a psychopath?

I don't get it either, but I'm not a fan of Blade Runner. Dark City was a much better movie IMHO.

Heee. Dark City was okay, to me, but Blade Runner is in my top five all-time favorite movies. The book is awesome, too - i wish there'd been more of it in the movie.

I'm still baffled by the 'psychopath' comment.
