I always felt so sorry for Paris. In terms of the feud, he was one of the few real innocents in the play, he only got hooked into it all because he was trying to do his duty by Juliet, and he ended up dead for essentially trying to stop what he thought was a vengeance-obsessed villain from defiling her tomb. Mercutio's death was horrible, but Mercutio was not exactly unwilling to fight. Paris was just in the wrong damn place at the wrong damn time. His death always felt so random and cruel to me.
