But basically the point is, there's a HUGE difference in songwriting styles the further on in the Beatles' career you go (and then on into solo careers), and Paul tends to write pleasant inoffensive pop songs (and his father was a jazz musician, so he grew up around music and composition). Lots of people like pleasant inoffensive pop songs. They're the ones that still get the most radio play. Meanwhile George got into eastern mysticism and started writing songs about spirituality ("Long Long Long" is actually written to God, and George is the reason why you find stuff like sitar on "Norwegian Wood"), and John had a stronger rock background and then got more interested in political activism and artistic experimentation (thanks to Yoko).
So chances are, most people will like some Beatles songs and not like others, and sometimes you really have to look deep to find the ones that are most interesting to your personal sensibilities.
Or you may go on hating the Beatles. I still say this is totally a fine opinion, despite the fact it's the polar opposite of mine. After all, like I said, I did date that metalhead who hated everything they did except "Helter Skelter". ;)
