I didn't enjoy Man of Steel at all, (grew up on old Superman shows/movies too because of my sister) I felt like all the fun was sucked out of his story, the beginning dragged on, the middle was joyless and unsurprising and the last bit of the movie just would not end. I'm happy I didn't go see it in the cinema.

Iron Man and Marvel in general does a better job of having their films keep that comic book feel, there's dark moments and themes but instead of dragging down the their movies they add to the overall experience.
