From what I've heard it's implied that Legolas has feelings for her, and she MIGHT return them but Thranduil is keeping them apart. (Which I admit does kind of annoy me, but I think that's because I've always been a big Legolas/Gimli fan and so even if that happens later, it just isn't something I'm interested in.)

Yes! And potentially more badass? (I'm not sure but I imagine they each have their moments.)

There is something appealing about it, aesthetically and otherwise.

Heh. Scott and Barda is pretty much the barometer for my favorite kind of relationship. Nerdy genius guy madly in love with a furious, dragon-punching amazonian warrior woman? Perfect. (Also, Wash and Zoe.)
