pretty much, but I'm with he first commenter here. Some people just want to battle and aren't fucking competitive players. I don't battle too much with people these days because of that very reason because I don't give a shit about a competitive team. I'll breed some pokemon and make sure I get the natures I want, but that's as far as I go.

I don't even battle with my own brother anymore because he's so intense about it and all I wanna do is just have a fair, use-what-pokemon-you've-caught-on-the-way type battle.

I know what you mean. I used to feel that way too. Tbh I have two teams: Pokemon I caught during the main journey, and the team I use for competitive battling. I use the first for casual battles. When I'm at the Battle Spot, I use the second team. It does suck for people who just want to play with their Pokemon, but the whole competitive streak is fun for people who've trained for it and stuff too.

My problem with the competitive thing is that...ALL online battles seem to be that way these days. There is NO just plain fun battling anymore and I fucking hate that.

If I wanna battle for fun, it's just between me and my friends. It's not like it used to be when it was like, the whole class who was into pokemon back in the day and we could link up and do some battles for fun. Now it's like, only your closest friends can be that fun battle buddy, but if you have any of them that are hugely into pokemon, chances are, they'll treat that as a competitive battle unless you specifically lay out "no competitive teams."

And that, to me, is just sad. I shouldn't have to make a separate team just to be able to battle online unless I just want to make a team of other favorites that I can't include in my normal team.
