I've been internet-less for quite a few months so I've only had my friends and family to discuss DW stuff with. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. They all LOVE the new direction the series is heading in and all they do is gush about how awesome the 50th anniversary/Christmas special was while all *I* want to do is gag because I seriously, seriously disliked them both. Every time someone talks about how wonderful everything in DW-land is I want to break something.

And then I get my 'net back and all my DW communities are overrun with SQUEEING.

PLEASE. If there is anyone out there who feels my pain let me know you exist. I feel so alone in my disgruntlement (I just refrained from making 'the last of my kind in the world' joke. you should be thankful).

The sad thing is that I honestly cannot tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Your comment seems to sum up most everyone's opinion on the matter. Which is, yeah: EW.

I don't care for it, but all my friends who like Dr Who didn't like the special episodes. So you're not totally alone?

There were things I liked and things I didn't like. But I am deeply exhausted with the trend in DW fandom (with the exception of the most recent two specials, apparently) of hating the show for the past several seasons. It's just tiring and depressing to see and hear, even when I agree with some of the criticisms. I'd rather just focus on the enjoyable bits and wait for the show to move in more favorable directions.

So, there's that.

Really? Everybody I see on the internet is shrieking about how horribly misogynist DW is anymore and they hate Moffat and they hate Clara and everything is sooooo badly written and I don't know why they're even bothering to watch anymore. I'm not even in the fandom and I'm sick of it. Trade ya experiences?

Yeah, I know this isn't what you're looking for, but you do come across as unbearably snobbish, getting ANGRY that other people LIKE THINGS that you don't like. Like, you're actually infuriated that people dare to like something that you in all your wisdom have deemed unworthy.

Go to fandom, they'll sate your appetite for disgust and rage.

Hell, just go to tumblr and it'll do that.
