(Unfortunately, improvisational wit is a lot harder to write than repeating the same line over and over, which I think is a lot of the problem.)

ALL OF THE TRUTHERY!

On the plus side, when you find a good fic with character accurate dialogue that doesn't regurgitate movie phrases, it's usually a treat. And Avengers fandom has quite a few, even if they get buried under the glut of "POPTARTS!" (And I'll admit, in crackfic or silly arts, it can be funny.)

But yeah, the deep searching for the meaning of Budapest...I really just thought it was two friends throwing out some mid-battle snark, not commenting on something deep and sincere.
