I've had some elaborate fantasies myself over the years, but yours really has me beat with the kids and family friends angle. Just. Wow.

All I thought is that you need to make this family on the Sims. It's fun to marry your celeb crushes in that game.

As someone who has imagined complex situations to try and bring my favorite characters together... Wow.

That's kind of cute, anon. And I thought I came up with a lot of elaborate fantasies.

Secret 1 - Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, BBC Sherlock, Criminal Minds, MCU, Supernatural; fantasies

I have an elaborate and on-going fantasy in which I am married t othis man [Aragorn] (I don't even really know why, aside from finding Viggo/Aragorn attractive). In that fantasy we are pretty well-off, live in a huge house on the country-side, but most importantly, we have a ton of kids. A few of them are biologically ours, but most of them are adopted or foster kids (with all the issues that can come along with that). These are our kids:

[Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Spencer Reid, Loki, Thor, Éowyn, Arwen, Legolas and Faramir]

I'm talking about little kid versions of them, of course, not their adult-selves (most of them are between 5 and 13 years old). Nothing particularly exciting ever happens in these fantasies. I play with the children, do arts and crafts stuff with them, bake cookies with them, read books to them, comfort them when they've had a nightmare, just parental stuff. The rest of the kids are Original Characters or athletes and musicians no one on Fandom Secrets knows or cares about.

There's also John Watson in this universe, a family friend (and our family doctor!). He and Sherlock are a couple and have 2 young kids (twins; Sherlock knocked up a client during one of his cases). John also has a twin brother named Bilbo (an accountant) who's married to Thorin (a mechanic). Together they raise Thorin's nephews Fíli and Kíli (whose parents died in a car crash).

Secret Because: Well, that's just bizarre. Especially because I've been having these kinds of fantasies in some form or another (with characters changing with the fandoms I'm in) since I was in elementary school myself (I'm 24 now).

Bonus Secret: I home-school most of our children, plus Fíli and Kíli (Kíli has some learning disabilities and behavior issues, which led to him not doing well in public school... okay, I'll stop now.)

That's cute! I have elaborated stories like that, but the characters are not from fandom

(All I could think when first reading this was that transcriptanon was going to cry when they saw all that text! heh ;)

I have all kinds of elaborate imaginary scenarios for myself.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-02 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yours doesn't sound very bizarre to me.

You might want to read the Dickens-verse stories by Arsenic (http://archiveofourown.org/series/55588). It's a huge gen multi-fandom series with many characters as foster or adopted kids. It has characters from White Collar, Bandom, Leverage, Suits, Gundam Wing, Stargate Atlantis, Magnificent 7, MCU, Star Trek (reboot), and The Hunger Games, though, unfortunately, none of the ones in your secret. I don't think you need to know all the characters to enjoy it.

That is some intense headcanons/fantasies, OP. Idkw, but Aragorn raising Arwen, who was his wife in LotR, made me laugh.

I do this, but only with original characters. And I have no interest in fantasy kids. But if that's what makes you happy, I get it.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-02 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds awfully crowded in your head.

So it's kind of like self-insert fanfic that you never write down, just keep it in your head? Because I kinda do that too, except mine is 90% "RPF" and less elaborate. And the "universe" varies according to my mood as well, like sometimes I'm a spy who's friends with the cast of the Hobbit, and other times I'm an author who meets and falls in love with one of my favourite comedians, etc. I just think about it at night, it helps me get to sleep.

I'm sure I recall past secrets about people doing similar stuff, so I don't think it's all that unusual, OP.

And I thought I had an elaborate fantasy life! I do the same thing though, and have done for as long as I can remember (but never including kids). I used to think I was weird, but I've talked to loads of people who do the same.

Nah, sounds pretty normal to me. Yours is tame compared to some of my huge multi-fandom ongoing... things. They're fun! And putting together little threads of the different canons can be hugely entertaining--the part about John and Bilbo being twins cracked me up. Excellent, OP.

You are just the precious baby of them all. I have my set fantasy world that changes as well, but I just can. not. right now. I've already adopted your fantasy as approved head canon, because I love it.

I think this is really cool, js. I used to imagine my self-insert sue living in a big ol' house with a bunch of fandom characters, but nothing this elaborate. You're making me want to try it. c:

Maybe you and my family can hook up, we have so many fandom children here it's quite crowded! Maybe you'll get along with Merry and Pippin. :3

Oh, this is beautiful, please tell me more!

(Anonymous) 2014-01-02 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I have a few 'universes'.

Main one right now is the Star Trek verse where I'm working for the Department of Temporal Investigations and accidentally go back in time to 1920s, meeting my husband and bringing him back to the twenty third century and we have a boy and I had already adopted a Romulan orphan. Then someone has the idea to make Time Lords and I freak out about that.

Then there's the Charmed verse where I'm normal and frowny face about shenanigans until I end up a goddess, have a one night stand with my best friend, also having become god and have the baby when I'm returned to normal.

Then there's the cynical political universe where I have a non-physical affair with the King who's very idealistic, but the prime minister is a master manipulator and I'm on the opposite political attitude.

Then there's the above on Babylon Five where the King and I are separated and I'm so miserable I literally don't speak.

So yeah. I suppose you're unusual in that you stick it all in the one continuity but it's a nice stress relief for me, so I'm not going to judge ya!

I find this strangely adorable. :)
