Do you think you've made a mess of your life?

I've seen so much of that in fandom spaces since new years, but they're more male dominated.

What does a fandom space being male dominated have to do with anything?

They're.... more or less likely to have made a mess of their lives? I have no idea.

Maybe they're under the assumption that women are more mature and only guys are capable of being adult children? Just guessing idk.

Nah. There's plenty of things that I've screwed up & that I'd do differently if I could do them over but I don't think I've made a mess of it. My life is imperfect and I need to improve it. But it's not ruined.

Nope. Not yet, anyway. But I'm fairly sure I don't count if it's female opinions you're after.

I feel like these are two completely different conversations. I can't seem to figure out how they go together.

Sometimes. But then I think about how many people there actually are in this world and how all of us are just trying to live our lives, and it's fine.

I think it will always be a bit messy, just cause so many interconnecting people.

But I like to think it's slowly straightening out.

Nope. My life is actually coming together really well in recent years, aside from stuff I couldn't do anything about like my health problems and my girlfriend's personal issues. So my life is definitely still kind of messy right now, but by no fault of my own, and as for the stuff I had a hand in? Mostly have been nailing it.

I mean, I could have done things BETTER. I wish I'd had more of a career plan in mind when I went to college. Hell, I still don't know entirely what I want to do, and I wish I had a better plan. But I have a degree from a solid university that I graduated with honors from, so even though I might have to go back to school or something to get a job I want, I have a decent amount of my life in order. I don't have any debt (thanks to my parents who put me through my undergrad) and I'm making a fairly decent amount of money at my current job. It's not a permanent thing, but it works for the time being. I'm posting a lot of my writing (blogging mostly) online so I have a lot to show off if that's something I want to do.

Definitely not. But I'm only one of a handful of people in my main/large fandom who hasn't. Most of the fandom says they have and judging by their personal posts, I'd agree. I don't talk about personal stuff in fandom though so I haven't had any issues about it. Some of my friends haven't been so lucky.

Do you mean like "I've seen more men comment on this topic in fandom spaces"? That's how I read it, anyway. Sorry everyone's getting defensive. I'm a lady, btw.

My life is a steaming heap of mess, yes. I'm going to try to clean it up with the new year. Never been good at making serious plans; never taught how, never figured it out myself. I'm going to figure it out already.

A bit, if you're talking about the chances we all have but don't take. But looking back to my life, I'd say I'm mostly OK.

Probably. But it could also be much worse.

yes. I'm unhappy all the time and don't have any friends. I hate school, home, and now work (which I used to kind of like--I was really excited to go back to work over winter break). no idea what to do or where to go from here.

I wouldn't say I've made a mess of it. I definitely haven't made as much of it as I could, but all things considered I could have done a lot worse, too.

Not particularly? Objectively I have a really good life and I think I could be really happy if I could figure out how to stop caring what other people think and worrying that they're judging me for not following the traditional path.

yes, but i'm actually in the process of putting it back together and it's going grand, so there's that.
