Sort of, I remember it being a really loud harsh sound. I might have remembered it louder than it was! Bah, I don't believe in the supernatural, but just hearing that makes me a little edgy!

I think all of this stuff seems louder when you're a kid. Like, the "VIACOM" voice isn't as loud or scary as I remember it being, even if I totally get why younger me was kind of iffy about it.
