Willis's premise is that Sal's misbehavior is all caused by her parents racism. Unfortunately, again, he's told, not shown, this. We've seen that Sal's got a terrible relationship with her parents, but, since it's all in the present, there's no indication that it started because she was more black than Walky, rather than because she's a disappointment on other fronts, such as being academically less gifted, or far more gifted criminally (which is still terrible parenting, especially with Mama Walkterton being so blatant in her favoritism, but he's given no real indication it's racist parenting).

He may still salvage it with a flashback, of course...but as of right now, it's just Word of God that Sal's completely right.
