HDU besmirch the good name of marzipan with your false allegations of grossness! Srsly though it seems like I am the only person in the world who actually likes the stuff in large chunks. I think that's probably because I have a thing about texture in my foods and find marzipan's texture very pleasing.

Marzipan is amazing in all forms! But I do get a little weirded out if it seems like I'm the only one in a chocolate or candy store buying the marzipan fruits (do they know something that I don't? or are they merely blinded by the flashier foodstuffs???).

I love marzipan o/ And here in Chile are a much beloved treat, specially at this time of the year. We shape them and color them like little fruits and sell it by boxes of dozens :3

I'm with you. Actually I don't care for the taste that much, but I really, really like the texture enough that I'll eat it anyway.

I've never had it. What's it taste like? What's the texture like?

It's sugared almond paste, but it doesn't really taste like you were eating an almond whole. It's more of a general sweet nuttiness. The texture is soft and grainy, kind of like when you're at the beach and you're digging in the sand by the edge of the water that is a similar texture to playdoh. Only edible and tasty.
