Technically the Eldar(Warhammer 40k) are elves in space, but the one book I have on them is... not good. Not even so bad it's good, it's unreadable. You're better off reading the game codex's.

I have never read a Warhammer book before. Sad to hear it was just unreadable and not hilarious.

If you want a readable Warhammer 40k book try Caiphas Cain HERO OF THE IMPERIUM. It's very fun, especially for something in the so absurdly grim it's kind of hilarious Warhammer-verse.

Okay, thanks! The summary for the series looks interesting.

(What is the meaning behind you icon, btw?)

(I ran across it years and years ago, and it made me laugh is all. :D)

Yeah, I wish I hadn't spent the money on it 'cause I quite like the Eldar but I couldn't even finish the damn book.

Also +1 on the book suggestion from bur, they are a good read.

And the novels from various D&D worlds (Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, etc) are not much more than fantasy pulp fiction.

Warhammer (the non-40k version) is the same basic thing as D&D, only with more figurines. 40k is the ELVES IN SPACE! version there-of.

Or so I have gleaned during my period of investigating WH40k stuff.

I happen to be fond of Forgotten Realms, but it's sword-and-sorcery, not epic fantasy.
