(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 12:53 am (UTC)(link)I agree that at a certain point people should cut their losses, and it's usually earlier than they actually do. But the rest of this comment is just real fucking dumb.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 01:05 am (UTC)(link)Wait, so not liking how Moffat has done things and written things, even though I've been watching Doctor Who since the Fourth Doctor, makes me NOT a real fan? Dude, I hated the way Sixth was handled, that didn't suddenly not make me a REAL FAN. People are allowed to be critical of things they love.

I adored the show under Davies run, even though it had it's flaws. Some of Classic Who - which granted, I'm no expert on - was brilliant, albeit cheesier.
Like, can you genuinely not grasp the concept of loving something and hating to see it ruined, but not immediately tossing it in the trash?
There were good moments in Eleven's run. I actually liked Matt Smith, and I kept hoping it would get better with time...which it has...somewhat, but to me, it has never gotten back to the quality it used to be.
Just as you're entitled to think it's brilliant, I'm entitled to think it's sub-par in comparison.
How does my opinion ruin your enjoyment of it, exactly?
I'm hoping to see a new writing team on it soon. If to you being a "true fan" means just swallowing everything without criticism - then swell, you probably won't even mind different writing, but to some of us, it makes a difference, and no amount of dinosaurs on a spaceship will make up for lazy storytelling.
