It might be Acorna: The Unicorn Girl by Anne McCaffrey and... and someone. About a unicorn girl who gets raised by a bunch of space miners, I think. It's been about a decade since I read it. XD

Yeah, that's the series name. Although, I re-read it a couple years ago and it sadly didn't hold up as well. Still enjoyable, but nowhere near as good as I remembered it being.

Ha, sorry! Acorna: the Unicorn Girl by Anne McCaffrey and Margaret Ball is the first in a long series. I only recall reading the first two then got bored, but I did enjoy those two.

I managed to get far enough into the series to the book where Acorna's boyfriend (a guy of her own race who was tortured by the primary monsters of the series) got lost in time. I tried to read the last book, but all the time-travel highjinks bugged me.
