aw ty :) I binged on some comics the other day after a conversation about Wonder Woman in the movies. So I do not know much about Batgirl but I wanted her as an icon.

I've been meaning to get back into DC comics but it hasn't happened. Steph seems awesome and the art in her Batgirl arc is gorgeous so I see why you chose it!

Oh is this Steph? THAT IS GOOD TO KNOW I thought it was Barbara. I should find out what comic it's from because yes the art is pretty. All I've read are Gotham Girls and Harley & Ivy, and a little bit of Batwoman Elegy though to be honest, I kind of prefer the more cartoony/lighthearted stuff? And I watched some of the really bad Gotham Girls flash webisodes which are incredibly gay. And I have Birds of Prey on my amazon wishlist.

Yea, it's Steph! (She was Batgirl when Tim became Red Robin, I think. Have yet to read Red Robin either but it's been highly recommended to me. Tim is adorable and that series has GORGEOUS art too so I bet it's worth a read.)

I mostly know Barbara as Oracle from Birds of Prey (which is AWESOME btw; I haven't finished yet, but it's one of the most enjoyable comics I've read) and various other Batman series (Nightwing, Robin, etc), but I haven't actually read her Batgirl run. However I'm sure it's great because so is she.

Is Harley and Ivy good? I've always wanted to read something focused around the two of them. I didn't get far into Batwoman Elegy before I got distracted with something else, but I wasn't feeling it much either (probably didn't get far enough in, though). I'm sure DC has more lighthearted stuff, but I don't have anything to rec...

Harley & Ivy was cute, it's the same level as Gotham Girls as far as cartoony-ness, iirc it's three separate short stories. Lots of fanservice. I like their dynamic (I have liked them even before I started reading the comics which, again, was only a couple of days ago, because I was flipping through a book once that mentioned the lesbian subtext and I was an innocent little baby gay who latched onto that shit) although ship-wise they're not really my favorite and I realize that is not at all what you aske. But I love Ivy and want to read everything good with her, and Batgirl too.

And that's okay! Lots of people recced me things, but I won't be able to read most of them for a while because of money.

NGL, that is partly why I asked. I like what I've seen of their relationship but I'm not too familiar with it either and want to learn more. Ivy is great and I like Harley and want to see what she's like away from Joker.

From what I understand Ivy is nowhere near as bad as the Joker, but she does have the tendency to be kind of mean to Harley. It's pretty codependent. Ivy has trust issues with people and is learning how to let Harley in, and Harley is still pretty hung up on Joker and from the meta I've read, she never gets over him, although that might depend on storyline? There's a lot of room for growth, and in that respect I like it.
