I'm pretty sure her hair really is fabulous and curly- probably amped up with small hairpieces and a ton of hairspray (because it was the '80s/early '90s), but mostly her hair. It's Gates McFadden whose real hair never appears onscreen in the series. If you watch closely, it occasionally goes from a long bob to past shoulder length between consecutive episodes. I've gotta get me some of Starfleet's vitamins if it'll grow your hair that quickly!

Her big hairdo's were actually a combo of her real hair and a hair piece so she did have her hair, but it's sill a little sad to find out they also had to use hair pieces and that hair truly is hard to achieve on its own.

NAYRT- my hair is like that without doing much at all to it. THANKS, ARMENIA. It doesn't take much to imagine what it'd be like if I lived in the era of Big Hair; just a look through my family albums at my mom and my 7 aunts (both sides) and numerous older cousins.

Not entirely true about McFadden. It alternates between wigs and her real hair.
