Give it a bit. Popular things don't stay popular forever; eventually we'll have a hard sci fi kick and some other asswipe can go on bitching about how he'd really like elves and medieval times back.

Granted, not splitting them up at all was one of the reasons I fucking adored Star Ocean 3. It had sci fi and space travel. And then a planet of medieval-ness and one random dude with a katana (because JRPG, that's why). And I fucking loved it if only for that one reason.

If you like scifi mixed with alien medieval planet with swords, i cant recommend the March Upcountry series highly enough.
