One way we deal is... A few weeks ago when the wind chill got into the teens-below-zero, I went out with the express purpose of looking for bubble solution. Because when it's that cold and you blow bubbles? Really cool things happen. We used to stay up late as kids on especially cold nights so we could do it, but it doesn't actually get that cold here very often, so my girlfriend had never seen it since moving out here, and I wanted to show her.

Some local friends and I were trying to pin it down the other day, actually, and we're not quite sure. I got partial results when the actual temperatures were in the mid-teens and the wind chill was about 7, and one of my friends happened to try it at roughly the same time and got nothing... but she was in a parking lot at work and apparently the bubbles were blowing into the wall pretty quickly, whereas I was blowing bubbles out my back door, so they could float a little in the cold and there was time for the reactions to take place.

I suspect to get it to do the REALLY cool stuff, it needs to be either single digits, or calm enough winds that the bubbles can drift for awhile before they hit anything. ..Which reminds me, I should go see what weather conditions are like now, and when in the hourly forecast we're supposed to dip below zero, so I know whether I should try it again before bed or right after getting up tomorrow. ;)

I will keep that in mind. Which means I can't do it now because it's way too windy, but who knows what tomorrow will bring.
