Well, it's a mix of both, actually.

I just wasn't all that into the game at first and was fairly indifferent. Then more and more of my friends started to pretty much browbeat me into trying it (at least, it felt like browbeating).

Initially I had meant to without any negative connotations, but then I just got frustrated that people were shoving the game on me and not even paying attention to the fact I was just. not. interested.

While not the key thing in ending friendships per se; not seeing vis a vis on the game played a considerable part in it.

Looking back on it, yeah, it was all pretty dumb. Even then, I still have no want, need nor desire to touch the game at all.

And when it comes down to it, that's your decision and your friends should respect that. I'm sure they don't mean harm from it, but you might have to be firm with them on this situation. If it keeps happening, if you're being PESTERED... it's not the game that's going to end the friendships, it's their unwillingness to let it go. (And then, yeah. Every time you look back and see those games, you'll just remember that bitter aftertaste, huh?)
