Secret 1 - Age in fandom
It infuriates me when people talk about how pathetic it'd be to still be in fandom when they're "old". That's both arrogant and ignorant. How old is the Sherlock Holmes fandom? Star Wars? Star Trek? You don't stop being interested in things just because you turn 30... or 40, or 50 or 100. Maybe you'll drift away from fandom, but it won't be because you've reached some arbitrary deadline for fun.
Post Script: Please quit moaning about how you're 24 and "soooo ancient" now. You sound ridiculous.
Secret 2 - Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes (non-fiction book)
"Sadako's paper cranes distributed at her funeral
Donated by Hitomi Sharada? and Masako [unreadable]
Paper cranes folded by Sadako were distributed as keepsakes to those who attended her funeral. These cranes conveyed to all how much Sadako had wanted to live."]
I want fix-it fic.
Notes (warning for real life tragedy)
Based on the true story of Sadako Sasaki, who lived in Hiroshima at the time of the atomic bombing by the United States, Sadako was two years old when the atomic bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945, near her home by Misasa Bridge in Hiroshima, Japan. She was at home when the explosion occurred, about one mile from Ground Zero. In November 1954, Sadako developed swellings on her neck and behind her ears. In January 1955, purple spots had formed on her legs. Subsequently, she was diagnosed with leukemia (her mother referred to it as "an atom bomb disease"). She was hospitalized on February 21, 1955, and given, at the most, a year to live.
After being diagnosed with leukemia from the radiation, Sadako spent her time in a nursing home folding origami paper cranes in hope of making a thousand of them. She was inspired to do so by the Japanese legend that one who created a thousand origami cranes would be cured by the gods. Her wish was simply to live. However, she managed to fold only 644 cranes before she became too weak to fold any more, and died on 25 October 1955 in the morning. Her friends and family helped finish her dream by folding the rest of the cranes, which were buried with Sadako.
After her death, Sadako's friends and schoolmates published a collection of letters in order to raise funds to build a memorial to her and all of the children who had died from the effects of the atomic bomb. In 1958, a statue of Sadako holding a golden crane was unveiled in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, also called the Genbaku Dome, and installed in the Hiroshima Peace Park.
At the foot of the statue is a plaque that reads: "This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace on Earth." Every year on Obon Day, which is a holiday in Japan to remember the departed spirits of one's ancestors, thousands of people leave paper cranes near the statue.

Secret 3 - Frozen (2013 animated film)
I didn't find Elsa sympathetic at all. I didn't buy the sister relationship. Listening to the soundtrack, I think several of the demos make for better stories than the story they ultimately went with. I found both of the male characters more interesting than either sister. I think it bears too many similarities to Tangled (which is my favorite).
I'm tired of people telling me I don't get the relationship because I don't have sisters. I AM a sister. These two are strangers.
I've seen it 3 times. I like it. I wanted to LOVE it.
Secret 4 - Actors and authors' reactions to fanworks
I recently realized that I judge people by the way they react to fanart or fanfic. If they are supportive of it or at least act decent about it, I immediately think higher of them and like them more for it. So these three (Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, J.K. Rowling) for example are A-okay in my book... ...While I immediately lost all respect for Zachary Quinto and thought he was a total douchebag when he made some dumb remarks about fic authors or something.
This is especially weird because I neither draw nor write fanfic and only very occasionally read it. I don't know why my feelings about it are so strong.
Secret 5 - Cabin in the Woods (film)
I genuinely do not understand why people felt this movie was original. None of the material is new unless you've never heard of "scary movie" or TV Tropes. It's just the same tired clichés that Joss Whedon always writes, repackaged with pretty special effects.
Secret 6 - Trailer Park Boys (TV series)
Not Secret: I ship all three of them.
In my headcanon, they regularly have secret threesomes and Julian never puts down or drops his drink, not even during orgasm. It just seems important.
Secret 7 - Frozen (animated film) (repeat of secret 3)

Secret 8 - Elementary (TV series) (warning for SPOILERS)
[Picture is Dr. Joan Watson, as portrayed by Lucy Liu, and Mycroft Holmes, as portrayed by Rhys Ifans. They are having a sort of tense dinner with Sherlock, who is off-screen.]
I am extremely disappointed in this plot-line.
I felt a little uncomfortable with Sherlock/Moriarty but it was only one bothersome thing so I convinced myself it wasn't so bad, but this Joan/Mycroft bullshit has made it clear they've made Watson and Moriarty women so they can do a bunch of stupid soap opera love entanglements without any ~icky homo~.
Even if they keep their word and never make Holmes/Watson canon, Elementary has still become a homophobic piece of trash. And I'm really really disappointed because I thought Joan was a great character and that she/the show had so much potential.
I'll watch the rest of the season in the hopes it gets better or at least doesn't get worse, (and to find out what sneaky business Mycroft's up to) but I've fallen out of love with it.
Secret 9 - Zelda comic (webcomic) (warning for SPOILERS)
[Picture is a colored drawing where a person with a dark blue full-body clothing and a black hood? is zapping with this purple misty energy a wobbly blue thing with two large white circles inside it. There is a "Z" floating above the blue wobbly thing.]
This is my favorite answer to the eternal mystery of who or what "kasuto" is.
Secret Because: Who even reads Zelda comic.
("fan" art belongs to the author)
Bonus Secret: I love his portrayal, he's my perfect villain.

Secret 10 - Breaking Bad (warning for SPOILERS)
[Picture is Jesse Pinkman, as portrayed by Aaron Paul, and Walter White, as portrayed by Bryan Cranston, from the TV series Breaking Bad. They are standing near each other, having what looks like a heavy conversation.]
Before I started Breaking Bad, I was told that I would hate Walt.
Having finished the end of the series, where Walt saved Jesse, avenged Hank and ensured that his family would be taken care of, I'm wondering when that will happen.
Secret 11 - Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures (webcomic) (warning for SPOILERS) (warning for suicide)
warning for suicide
[Picture is a blue creature lying in a puddle of dark blood inside a cave, holding a piece of something sharp, like a rock, which is stained by the same liquid. A similar blue creature asks "...Brother?"]
This scene hit me SUPER close to home, because I would have done the exact same thing. In fact, all of Heshi's story arc was super relatable to me, in how afraid I am of dealing with the burdens of the adult world. And, honestly, I envy that he actually had the strength to end it, instead of just continuing on and letting things happen out of fear of death.
Secret for PRETTY OBVIOUS REASONS.
Take It To The Comments - Fandom Secrets (warning for talk of rape jokes)
[Picture is the banner of the Dreamwidth community "Fandom Secrets".]
I find it hysterical how many people were totally blasé about Martin Freeman's joke and dismissed it as black humor when everyone was up in arms about the anon troll's dog joke three days prior. Consistency would be nice, guys. Rape is fair game because anything's funny if you can laugh at it, but the second you call dogs garbage animals that eat garbage, you're a despicable person who shouldn't breed and should go kill themselves? Right. Either both are acceptable under the grounds of black humor or neither one is acceptable.
Bonus Secret: I tend toward the side of "anything's funny if you can laugh at it", but even I think Martin's scare quotes were unnecessary and totally inappropriate. And I'm a dog owner who laughed a lot at the dog joke.
