Well alright, but that's not entirely silly. People do tend to get lives in their 20s-30s, so they'd have less time for fandom. And that's completely realistic. I know sometimes I get so caught up with things that I don't visit any fan communities for days, and that's part of growing up.

Sure it is. But it's kind of insulting to assume that fandom = no life/immaturity and to set some totally arbitrary deadline for when you'll "grow out of it". It's even sillier to assume that if you don't quit fandom entirely by that deadline, it'll mean you've stagnated in immaturity forever.

I think it's strange that you can be a sportsfan your entire life, dress in team jerseys, go to games wearing face makeup, and society at large approves. But heaven forbid you're interested in a movie/book/tv show/etc. Because that means you're stuck in childhood.

What's more childish, being obsessed with grown men who play children's games, or media about adults doing adult things and having adult problems?
