Where did I say she couldn't stand? And if doing can only make it worse, how come her knee is in fact getting better?

And congratulations, you've just fucking pissed me off. My family does not turn a "blind eye" to each others' needs. My grandmother didn't want an ambulance, we contacted an NP and got the all clear, lost two straight nights of sleep with her (she had to get up and pee all the time, and yes we took many steps to provide for that), and have made sure that someone is always at home with her until she's absolutely better, which meant taking off work. Fuck you and your insulting assumptions.

Fair enough. I should have said that she could barely stand at the time that the big decision had to be made. We're kind of past the point of needing an ambulance; I'm pretty sure we can get her to a doctor now if we (and most importantly *she*) felt it necessary.
