I'm... 14...

The average age for my fandom is probably 23- ish. I can only think of one fan who isn't 20~25 whom I know the age of and they're 16. It's an old JRPG though, so no real surprise there. It sort of makes fandom awkward as hell when everyone's 10 years older than you though.

Also the age thing is less "wow you guys are old" and more "goddamn I'm really young" just to clarify.

Are you truthful or open with your age? Because I imagine it might be hard to be in fandom being so young. As an adult much older than you I admit I would be highly hesitant to be friends just because you're so young.

I don't say it immediately but I either never say it or don't lie. Although I suppose I sometimes pad it to be 15 because honestly that one year sounds a lot better...

You should also be extra cautious who you interact with OP, and where (no private chats or video etc.), because there are people out there who pad their age (very much) downwards as well. There was no Internet till I was 16, and it skewed more towards being a friendly place in the public areas (Usenet mostly) and I wasn't into BBSes or gaming. So I steered clear of the worst of it. But, yeah, 13 is very young IMO, even though something something Internet of Things blah blah blah everybody's connected etc.

I'm kind of interested to as what got you interested in a older JRPG; I think it's neat when younger people take an interest in older things.

I just enjoy JRPGs in general, and I ended up hearing about this one and liking it. I guess It helps that my family was somewhat poor when I was younger and my first introduction to video games ended up being the SNES, which ah, didn't exactly have the most powerful graphics, so I wasn't exactly going to knock a game just because it didn't have super realistic graphics.
