Well, as a 30-something, I can tell you that a lot of this "so grown up" is also due to societial pressure. You're constantly told by society that you're supposed to grow out of certain things. That you're supposed to wear proper, professional clothing instead of band or geek shirts. That you're not supposed to get emotional over fictional characters, because that's childish, and you will not be taken seriously. It's really, really sad, but that's how it is.

Luckily, it's beginning to change. And idgaf. I will wear geeky shirts until the day I die. Please bury me in a fandom t-shirt.

Oh, I totally agree. It's so dumb. :/

And I don't give a fuck, either! Life's too short for itchy tailored clothing.
