Okay, you're annoyed that the creators of the show decided to depict straight people. I get that it's annoying to you to not have more LGBT characters on TV, but I don't quite see how making some of the straight character women suddenly makes Elementary worse than the shows that ignore LGBT people *and* women *and* people of colour, too.

That's kind of... not really it? It's not just watching a random show and going "sigh, more straight people" it's that I'm watching a Sherlock Holmes adaptation and Watson and Mycroft are fucking and it's ok because one of them's a girl now! I'm not complaining about either of them being depicted as straight, I'm complaining that they didn't need to hook up characters that would never be together under any other circumstances.

Okay, but that's a long way from "homophobic piece of trash." It would make more sense to complain that "of course the female characters have to be fucking the male characters because that's the point of female characters." I mean, I don't think that's necessarily a reasonable argument, but it makes more sense than calling out the show for homophobia.
