they don't ever ACT like it after that one party scene, though - they run around as if they've been close for years and all the normal family truisms apply

they never DEAL with the fact that they're strangers in spite of all their dramatic declarations and probably genuine feelings, and it's just one more thing that makes the movie feel hollow and incoherent to me
