Finding a movie....

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-01-04 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Thor2 came and went in my small town in a WEEK, and i never got the chance to see it. Anybody have, like, a DVD screener link i can dl? All i can find are cams, and cams suck. I'd really like to see it sooner rather than later, and it's not gonna be out on dvd for another month (and there's no guarantee i can afford to buy it then, anyway).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, I gave it a look but I couldn't find anything on trustworthy sites. I avoid most torrent sites for safety and security reasons. You're better off waiting for the DVD and swiping that.

Yeah, i can't torrent, anyway. It's just so weird - there's a Hobbit screener out, and any one of a half-dozen *other* 'new' movies...but this one...nothing.

Why can't you torrent?

The way we have our computer's networked. Cat can, but i can't. It's a little weird but - eh. I've never really cared one way or the other. Cat *does* torrent quite a bit, but not so much lately, since Pirate Bay and the like have had so many problems.

I don't use TPB if I can help it.

I use kat.ph for most things, the waffles.fm private tracker for music, and I check on h33t for stuff I can't find elsewhere.

And I never go without Peerblock turned on first.

Aside from a lot of torrent sites being shady anyway (you run the risk of viruses and spyware just by going there) there's also the issue of anti-P2P companies watching trackers, and using the information they gather to send ISPs notification letters.

This is why I stick with only a few certain sites. Kickass Torrents is my one exception to the "I don't use sites with 'torrent' in the name" -- mostly because it's a pretty good replacement for Demonoid.

It's also why the vast majority of the music I download is through googling for file locker links like Mediafire. Anything else, I can usually get through waffles which is private.

You...dont have to buy on dvd tho? Renting is typically $3.50 at MOST. Less if you redbox.

Lackluster is gone from here, there are no other rental places, and the Redboxes in my town have more than once had those little card-reader snoop things stuck on them (and then found) so i don't chance it.

This is the only one I could find. It's got hardcoded Chinese subs (and no English subs for the alien parts, so you'd have to find a separate sub track for that) but the quality looks fine.

They have pretty much everything. Free to join, free to watch.

Well, i'm confused. Went to the Solarmovie site, made an account, found the movie, was all logged in and clicked the first 'watch now' link....and it takes me to another page, where to stream *or* dl, i have to make yet another account at another site.

So does the solarsite actually have stuff on it, or is it all third party stuff?

I clicked a few other links, too, they all wanted me to sign up at a third part site to watch. So...wth? And yes, i was logged into the solarmovie site the whole time.

It's 3rd party stuff. The links listed below the movie titles are the ones to click. Sometimes it's a bit of trial and error to find one that works, but the ones with the high ratings are usually the good ones. They usually don't require registering on another site, just captcha once you're on the other sites.

Hurm. I clicked the very first link with 100 percent and it was third-party. So, i'll just have to experiment. Thanks. :)
