Like many Skyrim fans, I disagree with Delphine and Esbern on Paarthunax, but unlike most, I don't hate them for it. I get where they're coming from and why they're such bitter hardasses. I even think they could be made to see reason eventually (and in fact, I downloaded a mod that does just that).

Also, I ship them.

I agree. I never could hate them, so my headcanon is that it's actually a pretty painful separation for the dragonborn when they have to say no.
