But idk what the novella is and gore and uncomfortable sex sounds bizarre considering this is FF we're talking about. Maybe they want to give the series a ~mature~ game with a darker feeling to it? FF doesn't need that, SE. Especially with a preexisting universe; if you want to go there, go there with a new cast of characters.
I wouldn't mind an XII re-release either so let's hope FFX & X-2 do well. Mmm, Gabranth... (XII had one of the best stories, imo.)

Back to FFX stuff: yep, Lulu is the mayor! Or something like it--the English dub will obviously do better than me at translating, so whatever they use, in that case. They didn't mention the kids from what I remember (I was listening with my best friend and we both facepalmed when we realized), but when her re-introduction happened, they definitely said she handled Besaid. Wakka was referred to as something like "the manservant" by one of the narrators, which cracked me up. The other narrator also spawned the whole "oh, there's always some kid saying they're Auron's child, or Braska's, or Jecht's" from Lulu.
That said, most of it revolves around these narrators, so that was a major con for me. I didn't find either likeable, although one of them is apparently a summoner post-Sin, which I found an interesting concept. It sounded as if they simply send whatever fiends still exist. Both of them also worked for Baralai.
So before I go even more TL;DR: If you were planning on getting the re-release anyway, the drama is probably worth listening to once.
As for the novella, details are still kind of sparse outside of where it stands on the timeline (it's directly post X-2, and then the radio drama comes after), but I think your guess about ~mature~ would be spot-on. It's the original scenario writer, but most of it sounds so over the top that it spawned all those bad reviews. There was even brief speculation about necrophilia involving the in-game Fayth before people sorted out the two plots happening in the novel.
I could actually see something that far-out in XV/Versus, but definitely not with an existing cast. No thanks, S-E.
(Love your Frodo icon, btw!)

Aww man, I really wanted to hear about Lulu and Wakka's children! Lulu being mayor is badass and she seems suited for it, I just hope they mention the kids at some point if they're going to continue on with the storyline. Wakka could be a stay at home dad? (lol manservant.) Wonder how many people you'll meet (in the story) who are complete fanboys and fangirls?
BARALAI! *cough* Not that the mere mention of his name gets me excited or anything...
Not sure how the narrator thing would work, but maybe they had their reasons for going with it? Maybe they plan on putting them in the new game...
I was, and probably will now that I know it exists! Thanks for telling me about it; I'll try to find it on youtube or something.
Oh god, I'm glad it sounds like necrophilia didn't make it into the novella because seriously, what the hell, we do NOT need that shit. FF can be over the top as is, but there IS a limit. (Or should be, anyway.)
From what I've seen of Versus, I agree; it would make more sense there. Not in X's universe. Stay awayyyyyyyy.
(Thank you!)

I hope we meet a TON of fanboys and girls. The boy summoner was a Yuna adorer (HEE), but everyone knows who all the guardians are, so it could make for super nice moments. The narrator thing is veeery likely meant to gear them into being new characters, but I guess we'll see how their reception is. You also don't have to thank me--I had so much fun talking about this with other fans. I'm mostly a hermit, but I had a lot of nerd emotions to share, haha! You won't need to track down the drama, either. They're actually going to dub it for the English release, if I remember the news. I think there was a preview clip a while back. <--it's also possible I imagined this, but I know for sure it's included in the game release, sub or dub.
OH MAN, THE FAYTH STUFF. I know. Especially when people brought up Bahamut's Fayth and how young he was. Augh. It may still be some crazy plot point, but it is definitely not related to them, thank goodness. S-E sometimes, yeesh.
(You're welcome!)

Ooo, in that case I guess I'll just wait. Unless I find myself wondering about it before then, in which case I bet there's a fandub out there somewhere. (You should frequent f!s more often! It was nice talking to you too, and you seem very knowledgeable of FF. If you share that passion with other fandoms you'll fit right in.)
...Ew, I forgot about Bahamut's Fayth being young. That's twice as creepy. Maybe SE knows better than that. Maybe...

There could also be fansubs, at this point. I saw questions about them thrown around, and I definitely wouldn't mind another listen with someone better at the language than I am. (I just may! My self-imposed hermitage is mostly due to shyness, but it is a little silly when I hang around f!s anyway.)
S-E is just a whole lot of "maybe" lately, which bums me out. At least I can say the novella plot probably doesn't go there (with the Fayth we know). It sounds like it was done to a Zanarkand Fayth when the city was around.

Final Fantasy is the largest fandom I know of, so I would be more surprised if they HADN'T fansubbed and translated everything by now. That's one amazing thing about being in a huge fandom. (Aww, there's no need to be shy here at f!s. Most people are pretty cool, and you don't have to reply to everything if you don't want. :p)
*shudder*
