What pisses me off is a giant wall of text about suicide as the first comment so there is absolutely no way to not see it. Thanks for taking GC away from me today.

There's no way of avoiding the word "suicide" but it's not like you had to read the comment. How can trigger warnings work if they can't even name the topic? What more do you want?

Don't be. If they have such issues that they cannot see the word "suicide" typed out, with no context, without some kind of emotional breakdown, then the onus is on THEM to avoid places that might talk about suicide because the internet is not their safe space, and to get some kind of professional help because that is frankly ridiculous. Especially since F!S ends up having comments about suicide pretty often.

Thanks....I did everything I thought I was supposed to for the topic. I guess I hurried a bit to post and rant about this because it was just a little troubling to see so many people agreeing with the "you should have been with your brother and not watching a movie you bitch" sentiment.

Sometimes when I'm on sights like that and see a bunch of people agreeing to an ideology that frankly freaks me out, I sit there wondering "wtf, are they all wrong, is this a normal thing, am I wrong for disagreeing"

What the hell do you want? That people say "trigger warning" without specifying WHAT they're warning for? That could lead to people triggering if they have to look and see. The purpose of a trigger warning is so that people who are triggered by a certain topic ARE ABLE TO AVOID THAT TOPIC, and if it isn't named, how will they know?

And if you have such a problem that you cannot even SEE the word "suicide" typed out, with no context whatsoever, without having some kind of emotional breakdown, then you a) should get on that with some professional help and possibly some kind of medication and b) need to get the fuck off the internet because the world wide web is NOT YOUR SAFE SPACE TO BEGIN WITH and you cannot tell people they are not allowed to say "suicide."

I don't think they're complaining about the TW but that the comment is the first one and so it doesn't collapse. And yeah, I have to agree with them that that's a shitty thing to do. If you're going to put a TW, post the comment as a reply so people can avoid the trigger. Otherwise, what's the point of the trigger warning?

Is scrolling disabled on your browser? I blitz over walls of text all the time, and they often don't even contain trigger warnings in their headings.
